She was predeceased by: her parents, Vernie Bates and Alice Bates; her brother Jack Bates; and her sister-in-law Irene Bates. She is survived by: her husband Bill; her children, Misty Gawith (Larry) of El Dorado and Wendy Lierz (Tom) of Seneca; her grandchildren, Payton, Allison Gawith of El Dorado, Hunter and Gracyn Lierz of Seneca; her siblings, Verna Sue Weber of Garden City, Bob Bates of Dodge City and Ed Bates (Cheryl) of Sublette; her brother-in-law Mike Brannan of Clay Center; and her mother-in-law Florine Terry of Wakefield.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to Nemaha County Home Health and Hospice or Camp Milton in Topeka, sent in care of Popkess Memorial Chapel, 814 Castle St., Seneca, KS 66538.
