He was predeceased by: his parents, John Rethman and Marcella Rettele Rethman; his former wife Carolyn Koch; and his siblings, Juanita Rethman, Marceil "Sis" Fouraker, Betty Himmelberg, Judy Hein (Walter), Walter Rethman and Tom Rethman.
He is survived by: his grandchildren, Kylie Rethman (Nick Thompson), Cody Rethman (Staci), Tristan Rethman and Haven Rethman; his wife Jerian of Seneca; his sons, David Rethman (Debbie) of Seneca and Dennis Rethman (Monica) of Lawrence; his stepchildren, Rick Stallbaumer (Jan) of Topeka, Jan Strathman (Rick) of Baileyville, Lori Broxterman (Dan) of Seneca and Cindie Crevier (Dan) of Spring Hill, Kansas.; and his brother Wayne Rethman (Marlene). He is also survived by 20 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.
