She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert Engelken and Helen Engelken (Fangman); her husband George Hermesch of Mary's Catholic Church; her son Donald; her great grandchild Peyton Topping; and her siblings, Irene Lawrence, Georgina Glissman, Stephen Engelken, Quentin Engelken and Rene Engelken.
She is survived by: her children, Gail Schmitz (David) of Holton, Kim Kreher (Tom) of Smithton, Pamela Hermesch of Shawnee, Christie Henry (Jason) of Glendale, Missouri, Dean Hermesch (Denise) of Olpe, Joseph Hermesch (Jennifer) of Goff, Jerald Hermesch (Gail) of Centralia, Leo Hermesch (Jennifer) of Eureka, Leon Hermesch (Alice) of Goff, Douglas Hermesch (Marcia) of Belvue and Greg Hermesch (Tish) of Kelly, Kansas; and her siblings, Virgil Engelken of Seneca, Linus Engelken of Bucyrus, Thomas Engelken of Topeka, Kansas, Rita Kastens of Topeka, Lois Kuckelman of Axtell and Joan Engelken of Topeka, Kansas. She is also survived by 26 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren.
