He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Bartell and Lennie Bartell; his wife Myrna Kleinsorge; his daughter Debbie; and his siblings, Delbert, Bob, Ray and Isabel.
He is survived by: his sons, Don Bartell Wamego (Nancy), Randy Bartell Salina and Mike Bartell Hays; his grandchildren, Lisa Njoroge (Jason), Lawrence, Stetson Smith (Jordan), Erin Rectenwald Lawrence (Chris), Kailey Smith and Dakota Bartell (Kaylin) of Manhattan; and his sister Delmonta Tholen.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Alzheimer's Association.
