He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Kimzey and Vada Kimzey (Towery); his spouse Gena Johnson; his brother David Kimzey; and his daughter Tami Laurette Kimzey (Gena Laurette).

He is survived by: his children, Andrea Renee Kimzey and Joseph Gene Kimzey (Tatum); his grandchildren, Miles Andrew Gadelman, Keeli Jo Kimzey and Karci Lee Kimzey; and his siblings, Ruth Murphy, Faith Huddle, Marguerite Rasmussen, Maradean Phinney (Rodney) and Janet Hadlock.
