He was predeceased by: his father Robert A. McDaniel. He is survived by: his son Kurtis McDaniel of Ellsworth; his mother Irma L. McDaniel of Scott City; his siblings, Larry, Kathy McDaniel of Sharon Springs, Ross McDaniel, Kelly McCarty of Grand Junction, Thomas, Pam McDaniel of Scott City and Lois Magie of Salina; and also, Tamara McDaniel of Ellsworth and Cliff Magie of Salina.

Memorials In Lieu of Flowers can be made to the Richard McDaniel Memorial Fund in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas.
