She was predeceased by: her parents, Hugh Simmons and Monta Embree Simmons; her husband Olin LaPlant; her brothers, Harry Simmons and Hugh B. Simmons, Jr.; and her nephew David LaPlant.
She is survived by: her children, Linda (Paul Smith), Mary (Jerry Watson), Larry LaPlant of Aransas Pass and Dennis LaPlant of Corpus Christi. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and five, great great grandchildren.
