He was predeceased by: his parents, James Murphy and Mary Murphy; his stepfather Leo Murphy; his son Kevin; his siblings, James Murphy, William Murphy and Frances Murphy; and his son-in-law David Lieber.
He is survived by: his daughters, Vicki Balthazor (Tony) of Palco, KS, Connie Lieber of Osage City, KS and Lori Knipp (Doug) of Damar, KS; and his brother Patrick Murphy of Pontiac, IL. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
