He was predeceased by: his parents, John Thompson and Evelyn Fourmont Thompson; and his son Wesley Thompson. He is survived by: his former wife Judith A. Hollis; his wife Judy; his children, Jeffrey Thompson (Shelly) of Columbus and Denise Thompson Wilson of Humboldt, KS; and his stepchildren, Tammy Brackney of Weir, KS, Vincent Brackney of Joplin and Andy Brackney of Tallahassee. He is also survived by five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established to the American Diabetes Association.
