He is survived by: his spouse Phyllis Faurot; his children, Richard Brent Merz (Lisa) of Holcomb, Brian Leigh Merz of Garden City and Shelley Jo Kuehler (Joey) of Satanta; his brother Don Merz (Cinda) of Santa Fe; and his grandchildren, Amanda Merz, Brady Merz, Christian Merz, Kyle Merz (Farrah), Drew Merz, Austin Merz, Brice Merz, Michael Kuehler (Keyla) and Megan Kuehler.
