She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Helen Maurene (Shriver) and Robert Craig Hirst; her husband Steven Allen Santala; her children, Stephanie, Bernadette and Todd; her grandchildren, Katlyn, Kassandra, Chloe, Brandon, Liam, Anthea, Grace, Mariana, Ira and Logan; her siblings, Kathryn Helene, Margaret Ruth and Robert Bruce; and her pets, Amos and Murphy.
