With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Violet C. Mermis of Salina, Kansas, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. She was predeceased by: her parents, Alex W. Klaus and Adeline Leiker. She is survived by: her husband Robert W. Mermis; her children, Michael Mermis of Watauga, TX, Greg Mermis of Kansas City, MO, Patricia Bluhm of Austin, TX and Marjorie Horton of Derby, KS; her sisters, Velma Pfannestiel and Lillian Schlyer of Hays, KS.; and her grandchildren, Becky Quigley of Great Bend, KS, Chris Vroom of Fort Worth, TX, Katie Horton of Wichita, KS, Beth Horton of Wichita, KS, Elke Mermis of Evergreen, CO and Shae Mermis of Brooklyn, NY.
Her commitment to her community was evident through her roles as Past President of St. John's Hospital Auxiliary, St. Mary's Guild, RSVP, Salina Regional Health Center Auxiliary, Meals on Wheels Program, and the Municipal Ladies Golf Association.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Building Fund or another charity to be decided.
