It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Mary Josephine Anne Teepen in Salina, Kansas, born in Kansas City, Missouri, who passed away on November 1, 2024, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Eugene Teepen and Eulalia Teepen; and her brother Albert P. Teepen. She is survived by: her sister-in-law Barbara Herron-Teepen; her nephew James Patrick Teepen; her great-nephew Alexander Teepen; her cousins, Charles Clavin, Mary Ann English, Susan Riley, Carol Beason and Sally Crane; and her friends, Shelly and Brian Gaskill of Salina. She is also survived by her parents and an aunt and uncle.
A funeral service was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Cathedral (118 S 8th St, Salina, KS 67401). A graveside service was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery (7601 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64138). She volunteered though Salina's RSVP / Volunteer Connection /Foster Grandparent (one on one school-based reading program) and enjoyed reading to children at the Martin Luther King Jr Child development center.
In lieu of flowers, donations will be welcomed to the Salina Senior Center's Meal on Wheels program (2245 N 9th St, Salina, KS), Catholic Charities (425 W Iron. St, Salina, KS), Sacred Heart Cathedral (118 N 9th St, Salina, KS), or a charity of your choosing.
