She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Avila and Mary Avila (Motta); her husband Gary James Merrill; her siblings, James, Joseph Jr., Betty Avila and Shirley Avila; her parents-in-law, Russell and Winifred Merrill; and her siblings-in-law, Mike Merrill and Marilyn Herwig.
She is survived by: her children, David Merrill (Carol), Briana Olson (John) and Linda Mendicina (Dan); her sister Rosalie Baptiste (Louie); and her grandchildren, Chelsey Nolasco (Adrian), Shawncie Hamilton (Ryan), Hailie King (Warren), Dylan Mendicina, Paige Cook (Michael), Joshua Olson (Jessica), Carlie Olson, Chris Fritz (Jennifer), Justin Fritz (Melissa) and Jackie Correa (Sergio).
A celebration of life was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 at 10:30 AM at the First Covenant Church (2625 E Magnolia Rd, Salina, KS 67401).
