He was predeceased by : his parents, Joseph Duane and Virginia Lee Doherty (Watson). He is survived by : his children, Kevin Doherty (Margaret) of St. Paul, Jill Chase (Darrin) of Louisburg and Angie Tyson (Dan); his grandchildren, Caleb and Olivia Chase; his daughters, Brenden, Elise, Kenna and Megan Doherty; his stepfather Robert Ketchum of Harrisonville; and his siblings, Pat Doherty (Janice) of Shawnee, Joie Foster of Johnstown and Nancy Westhoff (Bernard) of Cleveland.

Memorials are suggested to St. Francis Catholic Church or Prairie Mission Retirement Village.
