It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Esther Maxine Phelan (Saint Paul, Kansas), who passed away on January 11, 2020, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Elmer Gilbert and Iva Jane Ashcraft (Smith); her husband Wilbur; her granddaughter Mary Jane Ramey; and her siblings, Kenneth Ashcraft and Leola Mae Ramsey.
She is survived by: her children, John Phelan, Cathy of Atlanta, Jim Phelan, Lisa of San Francisco, Mike Phelan of Houston, Steve Phelan, Jenny of Kansas City, Patrick Phelan of Palm Springs, Juanita Phelan of Stillwater, Jane Ramey and Joe of Dewey; her grandchildren, Sara Ramey Richardson, Joey Ramey, Ben West, Kayla Stierwalt and Keith Stierwalt; and her great grandchildren, Zakary Ramey and Ramona West.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the St. John Catholic School.
