It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Murrel Edward Phillips of Saint Marys, Kansas, born in Arcadia, Kansas, who passed away on December 24, 2022, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, J. C. Phillips and Gracie Koppa Phillips; and his siblings, Clarence, Fredrick, Darrel, Mary Alice, Alpha, Wanda and Dee.
He is survived by: his wife Lucile M. Crystal; his children, Linda Sledd (Lynn) of Wamego and Ronald Phillips (Pamela) of Hiawatha, Kansas; and his grandchildren, Jamie Sledd, Shawn Phillips, Kyle Phillips and Kim Sledd Hall. He is also survived by fourteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials are suggested to the Cherry Grove Baptist Church and may be left in care of the Cheney Witt Chapel, 201 S. Main, P.O. Box 347, Ft. Scott, KS 66701.
