He was predeceased by: his parents, Marie Catherine (Glick) and Eugene Anthony McEnroe; his sister Jean Vermillion; his stepmother Marie McEnroe (O'Connell); his brother-in-law Edward "Bill" Schaefer; and also Marguerite Schaefer (Hubel).
He is survived by: his children, Melissa, Linda and John Daniel Jr.; his wife Toni; his children, Missy Leggett (Mark), Lindy Ford (Jeff) and J. D. McEnroe (Sharon); his grandchildren, Danielle Bishop (Kyle), Samantha Newman (Jacob), Alexis Bodenstab (Tyler), Jackson Leggett, Connor, Kristen, Kailee Ford, Morgan, Nicole and Lauren McEnroe; and his great grandchildren, Brodie and Harper Bishop.
