He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Payne and Elda Payne (Gilbert); and his sister Kay Garcia. He is survived by: his children, Jeff Payne (Jocelyn) and Heather Elliott (Gary); his grandchildren, Hailey Duran (Aaron), Jacob Payne and Jessica Payne; and his great grandchildren, Judah Young and Ronan Duran.
Visitation was held on Thursday, March 13th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Popkess Mortuary (823 Virginia St, Sabetha, KS 66534). A funeral service was held on Friday, March 14th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location. The military honors was held on Friday, March 14th 2025 at the Popkess Mortuary Chapel (823 Virginia St, Sabetha, KS 66534).
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Albany Historical Society sent in care of the Popkess Mortuary, 823 Virginia Street, Sabetha, Kansas 66534.
