He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Plattner and Joyce Plattner (Warrick); his brother Gail; and his sister-in-law Marge Plattner. He is survived by: his siblings, Jim Plattner of Sabetha, Eileen Ellerman (Kenny) of Nortonville, Kansas, Neil Plattner of Sabetha, Erma Thorne (Fred) of Tonganoxie, Kansas, Ellen Hertzel (Gerry) of Sabetha, Randy Plattner (Sheryl) of Sabetha, Laura Pyle (Gary) of Morrill, Kansas, Gary Plattner (Denise) of Sabetha and Becky Rokey (Tom) of Fairview, Kansas.. He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
