LaVon Gene Wenger Obituary
We are sad to announce that on December 29, 2024 we had to say goodbye to LaVon Gene Wenger of Sabetha, Kansas. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Wenger and Tillie Wenger (Strahm); his sister Mary Lou Kellenberger; his brother-in-law Larry Bailey; and his granddaughter Libby LaVon Wenger.
He is survived by: his cousin Don; his aunts and uncles, Lou and Joe; his wife Erma Jean Strahm; his children, Marc Wenger (Julie), Shari Eisenbise (Dave) and Brad Wenger (Pam) of Sabetha; his grandchildren, Erica Kellenberger (Travis), Maggi Kaeb (Jason), Morgan Campbell (Ryan), Maria Edelman (Jeff), Emily Thompson (Lucas), Will Eisenbise (Mariah), Samuel Wenger, Claire Kempin (Brandon) and Isaac Wenger (Ellie); his great grandchildren, Crew, Kate Kellenberger, Kyson, Kendon, Tracen, Taryn Kaeb, Lexi, Brooke Edelman, Remi, Ru Thompson, Boe, Ree, Ret Eisenbise, Tillie Wenger and Kempin; his sisters, Linda Bailey and Rose Ann Knoblock (Steve); and his brother-in-law Danny Kellenberger. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.
Viewing was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Popkess Mortuary (823 Virginia St, Sabetha, KS 66534). Visitation was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Apostolic Christian Fellowship Center (1533 Virginia St, Sabetha, KS 66534). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Apostolic Christian Church (1441 Virginia St, Sabetha, KS 66534).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Sabetha Community Hospital, the Apostolic Christian Home, and the Sabetha EMS, sent in care of the Popkess Mortuary, 823 Virginia Street, Sabetha, Kansas 66534.
