He was predeceased by: his parents, George F. Hervey, Sr. and Minnie M. Hervey (Haase); and his sisters, Opal Stuessie and Shirley Richards. He is survived by: his wife Roma Lea Bauman; his children, Sally Kissel (Jim) of Wetmore, Gerald Hervey (Cass) of Sabetha and Melissa Harberts of Larchwood, Iowa; his grandchildren, Jamie Grollmes (Matt), Jason Kissel (Casey), Katie Hervey, Wyatt Hervey, Tucker Hervey (Sarah), Emmett Hervey, Nicole McCray (Ben), Mindy Van Sant (Brady), Jessica Klinger (Riley) and Becca Harberts; and his siblings, George Hervey, Jr., Dan Hervey (Sue), Don Hervey (LeAnn) and Elain Ellenwood. He is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren.
