He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Garber and Anna Garber (Hartter); his wife Rosemary Garber (Cramer); and his siblings, Ruth Seffer, Rose Mary, Elizabeth, Andrew, John, Robert, Charles and Allen.
He is survived by: his children, John Garber (Elaine) of Sabetha, Ed Garber, Jr. of Sabetha and Margaret Garber of Kansas City, Kansas; and his grandchildren, Tresa Burger (Scott), Matthew Garber (Kimberly), Jill Bachtold (Mathew) and Andrew Garber (Megan). He is also survived by his 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
