It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Thurlene J. Ruggels of Russell, Kansas, born in Republic, Kansas, who passed away on March 25, 2025, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Thurlene may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Clifford H. Larkins and Evelyn Larkins (Neil). She is survived by: her sister Beverly Siegel of Bremerton, WA; and her children, Paula Hachmeister of Russell, Tom Ruggels (Lissa) of Steilacoom, WA, Pam Eickhoff (Steve) of Raymore, MO and Vance Ruggels (Stephani) of Russell. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and a host of friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, May 2nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. John Lutheran Church (425 N Main St, Russell, KS 67665). A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 2nd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Natoma City Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the Thurlene Ruggels Memorial Fund and sent in care of the mortuary.
