It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Dona M. Bender of Russell, Kansas, born in Wichita, Kansas, who passed away on July 7, 2022, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Donald Fowler and Lyla Fowler (Bruner); her son Jason Battaglear; and her brothers, Larry Fowler and Mike Fowler.

She is survived by: her husband Larry Bender; her son Eric Battaglear (Missy) of Hoisington, Kansas; her siblings, Ron Fowler (Glenna) of Valley Center, Patrick Fowler (Karen) of Hillsboro, Kansas, Carolyn Stock (Keith Unterseher) of Flippin and Anita Davis (Denny) of Wichita, Kansas; her grandchildren, Jerica Battaglear, Stephanie Horton (Brian), Jason Battaglear and Danny Battaglear (Samantha Duran); and her great grandchildren, Isabella Mickle, Danica Horton, Aurora Horton and Westin Lee Battaglear. She is also survived by six nieces and four nephews.

A Memorial has been established as the Dona Bender Memorial Fund.
