He was predeceased by: his parents, Jerry Simpson and Edna Mae Liggett (West); and his siblings, Vernon Leroy Liggett, Duane A. "Jake" Liggett, Donald L. "Donnie" Liggett, Doris Witthuhn, Sharon Mendenhall and Lorna Mae Liggett.
He is survived by: his wife Rita Liggett; his children, Jeff Liggett (Kathleen), Allan Liggett (Brooke) and Lorna Herrman (Carl); his grandchildren, John Gilbert Herrman (Kyle), Megan Hernandez (Ziv), Tyler Liggett, Catherine Liggett, Kennedy Liggett and Monroe Liggett; his great grandchildren, Selah Herrman, Carl Herrman, Gavan Middleton, John Eric Herrman, Claire Herrman and Jax Hernandez; and his sister Judy McCoy.
In lieu of flowers or plants, the family requests memorials to St. Michael's Catholic Church, La Crosse, Kansas, or Walnut Valley Senior Center, Rush Center, Kansas.
