He was predeceased by: his parents, Everett Payne and Mamie Payne; and his sister Jolene. He is survived by: his daughters, Joni Shadonix (Bill) of Overland Park, KS and Janise Thurston (Mike) of Wichita, KS; his grandchildren, Jason, Matthew, Stephen Shadonix, Leigh Ann McCoy, Debra Schlender, Sarah and Adam Thurston; and his great grandchildren, Kyla Schlender, Jay Shadonix, Andrew and Rebecca Shadonix.

Memorial Contributions. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
