He was loved and cherished by many people including: his father Maybell Gibson; his children, Vaughan Lee Gibson of Riley, Brandon Del Gibson of Riley, Jeffrey Otis Gibson of Cheyenne, Kenneth Lee Gibson of Hays and Edward Otis Gibson of Hays; his grandchildren, Myia Gibson, KyMara Gibson, William Gibson, Kyia Gibson, Lacey Gibson and Zadyn Gibson; his wife Donna Gibson; his mother Maybell Masson; and his son Shane Del Gibson.

A memorial has been established for the Willie Gibson Memorial Fund.
