He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Oscar Bierman and Maud Bierman; his wife Karen Bierman; his children, Eric Bierman and Kellye Bierman; his brothers, Bob Bierman, John Bierman and Earl Bierman; and his grandchildren, Nik McCoy, Shane Eslit (Annie) and Vandi Melton (Tony). He was also cherished by eight great grandchildren.
A memorial has been established for the Good Shepherd Hospice House.
