He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Zumwalt and Lorene Zumwalt. He is survived by: his spouse Dorothy Jean O'Dell; his son Kenneth C. Zumwalt Jr. (Karen) of Oak Grove, Missouri; his granddaughter Nicole Conner; and his great grandchildren, Natalie and Brady.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
