He was predeceased by: his wife Dorothy; and his brothers, Gerald and Edwin Alkire. He is survived by: his children, Mike Alkire (Colleen) of Belleville, KS, Randy Alkire of Augusta, GA and Brenda Alkire of Belleville, KS; his grandchildren, Jeremy Alkire (Ericka) of Lindsborg, KS, Nick Alkire (Janeane) of Hutchinson, KS, Ashley Murphy of Hutchinson, KS, Vanessa Villarreal (Rene) of Sutton, Joshua Higby (Tara) of Sutton, NE, Jonathon Higby (Rochelle) of Sutton, NE, Jacob Higby (Sarah) of Hastings, NE, Haley Higby of Geneva, NE and Tyler Alkire of Greeley, CO; his great grandchildren, Grant Lysell Alkire, Sawyer Lysell Alkire, Jarrett Alkire, Nolan Alkire, Davin Higby, Remi Higby and Grayson Villarreal; and his sister Arlene Bergstrom (Claire) of Rupert, Idaho. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.
