He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene C. Frakes and W. Leone Frakes (Burns); his daughter Lori Nelson; and his siblings, Charles, Ronald and Rebecca.

He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Meyer; his children, Darin Frakes (Tena), Michael Messer (Cassie) and Tara Robertson (Allen); his son-in-law Daniel Nelson; his sisters, Sally Cordell (Hap) and Cindy Frakes (Tammy Hebert); his mother-in-law Betty Meyer; and his grandchildren, Freddy, Ella, Chloe, Brady, Malaree, Quade, Keeghan, Creighton, Morgan, Aiden, James, Karmah, Allen and Brooklynn. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews; extended family and longtime friends.
