It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Hessel L. Purdy Jr. (Protection, Kansas), born in Hays, Kansas, who passed away on November 7, 2019, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Hessel Purdy (HL) and LaVera Purdy (Goff); his granddaughters, Holly Jane, Hannah Beth, Heidi Marie and Henley Jo; his sister Donna (Purdy); his brother-in-law Vernon Farris; his nephew Farris; his wife Toni; his daughters, Denise Lewis (Vince) of Tonkawa, Oklahoma and Krista Hembree (Brian) of Tonkawa, Oklahoma; his granddaughters, Holly Hembree (Colton Wright) of Edmond and Henley Hembree of Tonkawa, Oklahoma; and his sister Carol Ann Matthews (Jim) of Langley, Oklahoma.
