Larry Edward Forrer Obituary
Larry Edward Forrer, 74, of Princeton, KS died Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Lawrence, Kansas.
He was born March 25, 1949 in Ottawa, Kansas the son of Edward Lamar Forrer and Georgia Mae (Mock) Forrer. He graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1967.
In July 1967, Larry joined the United States Air Force. He was stationed in various locations, including Vietnam, Korea, Germany, Greece, and the Pentagon. He specialized in communications, and he served his final 13 years of his career as an Information Systems Operations Supervisor. Larry retired from the Air Force in 1987 with the rank of Technical Sergeant. During his 20 years of service, Larry received numerous medals and awards, including the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with four Bronze Service Stars, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with two Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters, and Air Force Good Conduct Medal with a Silver Oak Leaf Cluster.
After retiring from the Air Force, Larry farmed and raised livestock with his family. He was also employed at the K Mart Distribution Center. He enjoyed being outside, gardening, his pets, and his solitude.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Georgia Forrer, and his brother, Gary Forrer.
He is survived by his sister, Linda Forrer.
