He was predeceased by: his parents, Clem Penka and Ursuline Penka (Birzer); and his brother Alvin Penka. He is survived by: his wife Regena Penka (Ellis); his daughter Dr. Rachelle Penka (Sean McGillicuddy) of Spartanburg; his grandchildren, John Thomas "Jack" McGillicuddy and Estella Grace McGillicuddy; his siblings, David Penka of Kansas City, Missouri and Jeanne Voss of Casa Grande, Arizona; his niece Rachel Broce (Derek) of Gilbert, Arizona; his nephew J. D. Wittig of Costa Mesa, California; and his great-nieces, Jadyn Tillman and Juliet Broce.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Sacred Heart Catholic Church in care of Larrison Mortuary.
