He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas W. Bright and Willa Bea "Billie" Bright (Martin); and his brothers, Rick Bright and Thomas Bright. He is survived by: his wife Laura Lynn Bright (Leonard); his children, Essa Beckenholdt (Ryan) of Pratt, Amanda Dye of Pratt, Jasmine Bright (Brian Bergdall) of Hays and James Phillip Leonard of Pratt; his brothers, Ronald R Bright of Pratt and Gaylyn R Bright (Jo Lynn) of Park City; and his grandchildren, Angel, Larissa, C. J. "Chuck" Beckenholdt and Isaac Dye.

Memorials may be made to Second Baptist Church or Cancer Center of Kansas in care of Larrison Mortuary.
