It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Ruth Piester (Pratt, Kansas), born in Coats, Kansas, who passed away on October 20, 2023, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Max McKinley Horner and Ruth Esther Horner (O'Hair); her husband Carl Raymond Piester; her siblings, Berna Blick (Horner) and Jack Horner; and her great grandchild Alex Wicklund.
She is survived by: her children, Ruth Anne Kelly (Randy) of Lewis and Ronald Piester (Brenda) of Piester Ranch; her grandchildren, Kathy Shaw Welch (Connor), Paula Shaw Wicklund (David), Austin Piester (Misty), Andrew Piester (Megan) and Justin Kelly; her great grandchildren, Emma Welch Roberts (Tyler), Collin and Dillan Welch; and her grandchildren, Alayna, Aaron, Addison Wicklund, Jackson, Lincoln, Truman, Hayes Piester, Kylee, Addelyn, Makenna, Carter, Logan and Bennett Piester.
Memorials may be designated to the Pratt County 4-H Foundation, the Pratt Area Quilt Guild, or to the donor's choice.
