He was predeceased by: his brother Michael Ames; and his aunt Blanche Levesque. He is survived by: his close friend Taeko; his spouse Taeko (Day); his daughters, Frances (John) and Tamme (Bill); his grandsons, Daniel, Christopher, Thomas, James and Henry; his sister-in-law Sherry Ames (Mike); and his cousin Joseph Deignan.
