Brenda Moore-Wells wrote a sympathy message

“How my heart and soul grieve for my mentor and friend. My husband, Steve Wells, played Tuba and made sure I met Marilyn, Bill, and Steve [the trombone section]. Marilyn was my friend from the first day I met her, playing with the Philharmonia of Greater Kansas City. As I took on rolls with the board-of-directors, Marilyn gave me advise and encouragement. She was such an important part of our Orchestra family. She will be missed by all her knew her. Brenda Moore-Wells, president”

Juli Dougherty wrote a sympathy message

“Marilyn was my dearest friend for over 55 years. I was used to being the new kid in school as my parents moved frequently. Marilyn welcomed me so warmly and we had that instant connection that you hear about but rarely find. We became so close so quick and that lasted for decades. Even tho I moved to Texas and she stayed close to home we never lost that connection. I looked forward to her visits in Texas and for the education of our local flora and fauna. I will love & miss her forever Juli”
