With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John Richard Sladkey (Prairie Village, Kansas), born in Chicago, Illinois, who passed away on January 6, 2024 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Jerome John and Linda Paulson Sladkey. He is survived by: his wife Jan Ericson; his children, Libby Vitale (late Benny), Nancy Rische (Kim), Cindy Haberkorn (Kurt), Lynne Fondell (Steve), Rick (Linda Magee) and David (Linda); and his stepdaughters, Christina Mick (Chris) and Tara Wiley (Mo). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Their marriage was a story of love that lasted an astounding 65 years, including Lois's 14-year battle with Alzheimer's Disease that took her life in 2018.
