He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Monroe and Mary Williams Taliaferro. He is survived by: his wife Helen Hovey Taliaferro; his daughters, Nancy (Marc Cantril), Jo Taliaferro (Chris Bell) and Jan (LaMonte Roach); his grandchildren, Grace Cantril, Scott (Emma Cantril), Taylor Cantril, Phillip (Kylie Roach) and Denis (Elizabeth Jimenez); and his great grandchildren, Alexander, Maxwell, Jaxson and Barax. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
