He was predeceased by: his parents, George Laverentz and Opal Laverentz (Sinclair); his siblings, Raymond, Eleanor Johnston and Margie Smith; his nephew Kevin Johnston; and his niece Kathy Goudelock.

He is survived by: his wife Paula (Plunkett); his children, Nancy and Jonathan (Seana); his grandchildren, Quinton, Keiran and Piper; his brother Dick (Marilyn); and his brother-in-law Tom Smith.

Memorial contributions may be made to City Union Mission or Old Mission United Method Church.
