He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse James and Naomi Folsom Mitchell; his wife Ruby Venable; his children, Dennis Mitchell and Belinda Fuller; and his siblings, Claude, Jesse Mitchell, Virgie Beaven, Lola McQueen and Louise Burch.
He is survived by: his children, Troy Mitchell Jr. (Edna), Rick Mitchell (Lonna), Sherry Fuller (Ernie) and Rhonda Anderson. He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren and fifty plus great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.
