He was predeceased by: his parents, James W. Simon and Lola M. Simon (Nickles); and his brother Mike Simon. He is survived by: his wife Maria Karns; his sons, Phil Simon of Lenexa, Mark Simon of Great Bend and Andy Simon of Manhattan, Kansas; his sister Jolene McElroy (Rod) of Wheelersburg, Ohio; and his grandchildren, Sage, Alexis and Carter Simon. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, December 29th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Plumer-Overlease Funeral Home (320 2nd St SW, Plainville, KS 67663). A vigil service was held on Sunday, December 29th 2024 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, December 30th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church -Plainville (206 N Washington St, Plainville, KS 67663).
