He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Joseph Werner and Nettie Werner (Larson); his former wife Sharon Casey; his wife Jacki Werner (Bledsoe); his children, Ronald Werner (Cappy) of Plainville, KS, Braden Werner (Tammy) of Plainville, KS, Sharris Werner (Jason Duffey) of Hays and Justin Werner of Plainville, KS; his stepdaughters, Vonda Pfeifer (David) of Stockton, KS and Tarina Hunt (Delbert) of McPherson, KS; his siblings, Richard Werner (Judy) of Plainville, KS, Vernon Werner of Flagler, CO and Marylee Schmidtberger (Eddie) of Pratt, KS; his sisters-in-law, LaVonne Werner of Plainville, KS and Lucille Werner of Plainville, KS; his brothers, Joseph Werner, Leonard Werner and Donald Werner (Ann); his sister-in-law Nancy Werner; and his grandson Maverick Werner. He was also cherished by twenty grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
