Gary Lee Mattson Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gary Lee Mattson (Pittsburg, Kansas), who passed away on April 17, 2025, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Mattson and Sarah "Toots" Mattson (Laird); and his brother Jim Mattson. He is survived by: his wife Judy Watchinski (Williams); his children, Gary C. Mattson, Missy Vacca (Robert), Jay Mattson (Melissa) and Colby Watchinski; his grandchildren, Drew (Chloe), Reed (Abby), Nick (Sarah), Mattie, Landon, Jayln (Thomas), Hannah and Lillian; his brother Bill "Willie" Mattson (Toni); and his close friend Kevin Patterson. He is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, May 18th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Psu Wilkinson Alumni Center (401 E Ford Ave, Pittsburg, KS 66762).
Due to Gary's love of animals, in lieu of flowers, a memorial donation to the SEK Humane Society at 485 E 560th Ave, Pittsburg, KS 66762 would be appreciated by his family.
