She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Ekhoff and Doris Ekhoff (Swearingin). She is survived by: her siblings, Carla Kirk (Dennis), Larry Ekhoff (Judi), Jim Ekhoff (Judy) and Edie Smith (Stephen). She is also survived by eight nieces and nephews; and 16 great nieces and nephews.

The family suggests memorials be given to Dream Big Little Ones Association in lieu of flowers.

“Evelyn was around a lot when we were kids. My brother and I use to run around the house naked before bath time. One time my brother let me go first and Evelyn just happened to be there to witness lil tuchuses running around the living room. I enjoyed here stories about teaching in Virginia and was so glad I was able to visit her there. She did so much for so many and she will be greatly missed. Give my Dad a hug for me Evelyn!”
