He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Caruthers and Grace Caruthers (Kisor); and his nephew Matt Newbery. He is survived by: his wife Donna Caruthers; his sister Linda Lou Newbery; his close friend Don Hubbard; his children, Jana Hartshorn (Don), Kurt Caruthers, Morgan Caruthers (Terri) and Colby Caruthers (Kristine); and his stepdaughter Marla Hallacy (Sean Taverna). He is also survived by seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
"In lieu of flowers the family has suggested memorials to the Pittsburg State University Foundation, Inc. to establish the Dale Caruthers Scholarship.
