He was predeceased by: his parents, Opal Hobbs (Davidson) and John Hobbs; his daughter Marla Hobbs; his brother Farrell (Sheryl); his mother-in-law Lola Fessler; and his brother-in-law Mel Fessler.
He is survived by: his niece Neina Quillen; his wife Dorene of Phillipsburg; his son Mark Hobbs (Melody) of Seneca, KS; his stepchildren, Scott (Lori) of Kirwin, KS, Steve (Joni Ellenberger) of Kirwin, KS, Staci Minkler (James) of Phillipsburg and Shelli Lopez (Frank) of Cortez, CO; and his siblings-in-law, Douglas Fessler (Rosealee) of California, Susan McClaren of Arizona and Nelda Bowen (Tom) of Phillipsburg. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a wonderful group of friends.
