She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, James F. Carney and Etta Mae Dickerhoof Carney; her husband John Alden Smith; her daughter Jan Stevens (Steve) of Perry, KS; her sister-in-law Maxine Smith of Jamestown, KS; her son John "Terry"; and her daughter-in-law Peggy Smith. She was also cherished by six grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
